About Us

About Us

About Us.  Ask someone what they think of when they hear the word "menopause," and you'll likely hear something like, "Hot flashes, anger, low libido, no more periods."  The end.

We get it.  We used to think the same thing.  And then perimenopause and menopause hit us like a ton of bricks, and we thought we'd never recover our brains, bodies, and lives.

We realized that menopause is far more complex than we had been led to believe. It is a major life transition -- one which affects every aspect of a woman's physical, mental, and emotional health. It is also widely misunderstood.  As a result, many women do not readily identify and connect the dots of perimenopause- and menopause-related changes in their body.

If women seek medical help, their concerns are routinely attributed to something other than menopause.  Women are told that what they are experiencing is "all in their head" or "just the normal part of aging."  They are frequently prescribed a battery of medicines that treat only symptoms and not the underlying cause of their suffering, which is estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone deficiency.

Adding insult to injury, effective treatments like Hormone Replacement Therapy have been unfairly demonized, leading women to believe that there is little that they can do to feel like a whole, functioning person once again. They remain caught in a downward spiral of declining health.

That this same cycle has continued for tens of millions of women is -- in a word -- maddening.

We have had enough.  Women deserve more.

No Pause For Menopause was founded to help change the conversation about menopause and what it means for women's health.  We want to flip the script on menopause, one T-shirt, coffee mug, and tumbler at a time.

We are women of every background and ethnicity.  We are Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millenials. We are mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and best friends.  We have raised families and enjoyed successful marriages, relationships, and friendships.  We are engaged in our communities.  If we have pursued careers, we have reached the pinnacle of our careers and our professions. We may even pivot into new careers.

We reject the thinking that we must shift into a lower gear and accept inferior health simply because we have reached menopause.  On the contrary, we intend to live a full, abundant, and health-filled life for the next forty years, just as we have for the first forty.  In fact, we are going to do life fuller, stronger, healthier, and more abundantly than we ever have.

Because we are at the top of our game.

Because there is no pause for menopause.

Because we are just getting started.
